My friend, Debbie Whitlock of Femme Finance hosts a weekly radio show on CBS Radio. It streams online every Friday from 9 - 10 am Pacific Time at http://www.ImThankful.com/Radio
She has two shows that I think will particularly interest parents. The first is the January 29th show with Debbie Lacy of Money Mindful: “How to Send Your Kids to College Without Going Broke”. The second one is “The Real-Life Money Game” with Sarah Williamson, on February 19 (I blogged about Sarah’s book last July).
Just go to this link and scroll down to the show(s) you wish to listen to!
In the summer I wrote about Sarah Williamson’s book, Play the Real-Life Money Game With Your Teen. Sarah emailed me to tell me about the many workshops she’s leading in 2010 in Seattle. I highly recommend that you attend one with your teen.
Here’s the information you’ll need to get started:
Sarah Williamson is pleased to offer one-day workshops for parents and their teens! In just one day you can help your teen get started on the path toward becoming a financially responsible adult. And, you can do it all while having fun! My workshops begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. with a 40-minute lunch break. During this time you will learn how to “play” The Real-Life Money Game® with your teen using worksheets and tools from the book.
The fee is $200 per teen and parent pair. The cost includes the book Play The Real-Life Money Game With Your Teen and a workbook with a DVD and a pdf file of the worksheets.
Workshops will be offered on several Saturdays in 2010—January 23, February 27, March 27, April 24, and May 22 in Seattle, University District and Northgate areas. If these dates don’t work, Sarah can conduct a private workshop for you and at least three of your friends and their teens at another location.
